How has God guided you? Are we worthy of guidance?
It's sometimes hard for believers and especially non-believers to believe divine guidance exists when it feels we are not being guided when things go bad. It’s usually easy for us to believe He has an ultimate plan, but it’s not always easy for us to sit back and listen.

What is the role of the Holy Spirit?
To communicate, reveal, empower
How did God communicate to and guide figures in the OT?
Example given: Through an angel in the burning bush
READ Isa. 30:1 - In the time of the Old Testament, it was a sin to enter into an agreement without the guidance of the HS and God's will.
How did God guide in the NT?
Example given: Flaming tongues
READ Acts 8:26-40 - What happens to Philip? How does the Lord guide him? Through the Spirit, twice!
How does God guide us today?
Through spiritual gifts, occasional direct answers, but mainly through the Bible.
Packer says, the biggest struggles believers have with God’s guidance is that we want to be guided by an inward (or outward) movement instead of by the Word. We want Him to answer a direct question like who should I marry, should I give money, etc.
But the Bible can’t give us a direct answer to these types of questions. It won’t spell it out for us. This, I believe, is why a lot of people turn from Christ. It’s hard to trust in God’s guidance when we want direct answers to questions like that.
Why else is it hard to trust in God’s guidance sometimes?
Just because God doesn’t answer us or guide us in this way, does it mean that he is limited to only using His word to guide us?
Of course not because He is God; but His will, will be done and His will is His word. As long as you put your faith in Him, He will lead you on a righteous path.
When God is asked questions that people want a direct answer to. “…He inclines first our judgment, then our whole being, then the course of action that is best suited for His glory.”
Can God’s holy guidance be thwarted? If so how?
We do not need to allow our feelings or false prophets to cloud our discernment of God’s guidance.
What about letting a pastor, elder, or other church official guide you? As kids we look up to our parents, would God want us to stop seeking guidance from them?

In the end GOD IS SOVERGEIN and He HAS AN ULTIMATE PLAN.
Cademon’s Call Table for Two
Last Verse:
“This day’s been crazy but everything’s happened on schedule,
From the rain and the cold to the drink that I spilt on my shirt.
‘Cause you knew how you’d save me before I fell dead in the garden,
And you knew this day long before you made me out of dirt.
And you know the plans that you have for me.
And you can’t plan the ends and not plan the means
And so I suppose I just need some sleep
Just to get me to sleep.”
