Mercy Ministry Focus - Lunch Drops

Our next ministry focus will be doing a sandwich run to downtown Baltimore on the morning of Saturday, December 22nd. There are many homeless people in this area that as it begins to get colder out find it more difficult to meet their basic needs. By taking a packed lunch to them we not only meet some of those needs, but also show them the love of Christ at the time of year it should be most evident to our hearts.

Here is how you can participate in this: 1) meet us Saturday, December 22nd with your pre-made lunches in hand 2) Drop off your pre-made lunches at Spectrum next week or 3) Participate in making lunches with us next Wednesday night at Spectrum. Either way, please try to make yourself available on Saturday morning to pass the lunches out because that is truly the most rewarding part of all this.

If you want to make the lunches yourself here are some of the most common items to include: PB&J, Bottled Water or Juice Box, Soft Apples, Chips, Cookies and Socks. But if you want to participate in making lunches with us we need volunteers to bring the following. Please let me know what you are willing to bring:

  • Bread
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Bottled Water
  • Juice boxes
  • Soft Apples
  • Chips
  • Cookies
  • Big Bags
  • Sandwich Bags

Next Wednesday night we will be meeting for Spectrum at The Price's - 2604 Windsor Road, Baltimore, MD 21234. Instead of our normal discussion we will be making lunches and watching The Pursuit of Happyness.
