Discovering reality should be a simple thing, shouldn't it? We open our eyes: we see the world, we taste it, we feel it, we experience it. And yet, experiencing truth can be rather elusive for everyone at times because there are so many lies that we believe to be true. No matter who you are, or what you believe it is difficult not to buy into the lies.
So what is truth? We learned that truth is ultimate reality, pure, unaltered reality. But whose reality are we talking about? The reality of the atheist or the humanist, or even that of the Christian? The fact of the matter is that the only perspective that ultimate reality can come from is from God's perspective, He is truth, He is our ultimate reality. And it is only by seeing the world as he has made it that we can truly understand our culture or ourselves.
The profound and not so simple statement that God is truth has far reaching implications, and we can only begin to discover those implications by gazing into the face of God. Have you ever done that? Close your eyes, or look in the mirror, or look to the sky, or look to Scripture and you'll see Him there. The God of truth is gazing upon you. He is right there for the world to see.
